Recently my local council gave me a runner-up prize for being Best Plant Specialist. It seemed churlish to protest at the time but I do protest: I do not specialise! I was also runner up for the edible garden prize but most of my plants are not edible.
I admit to having a miniature orchard of fruit trees: citrus trees such as oranges, lemons, mandarins, cumquats, tangerine, grapefruit and limes, as well as fig trees of eleven varieties, some guavas and pomegranates and persimmons, a quince, a loquat, a tamarillo and a Davidson Plum. But I do not specialise in fruit trees.
